Bill Beamish has led technology companies for more than 20 years, both at investment and executive levels. A founder of the company, he is responsible for FieldAware’s operations and strategic direction.
Prior to founding FieldAware in 2011, Beamish founded and served as CEO at Fleetmatics. Beamish’s leadership was instrumental in the early growth of Fleetmatics’ revenue to more than $100 million and its successful initial public offering (IPO) in October, 2012.
Beamish was also the moving force behind the content and technology strategy that powered CBT Systems (later Smartforce) and he played a key role in the success of the company through the development of partnership strategies with Microsoft, Cisco, Oracle and many others. Bill's input ranged across the functional spectrum from partnership development to operations and marketing.
Elaine has over 15 years operational experience in technology companies with extensive merger and acquisition experience. She has been involved in three successful initial public offerings and two secondary offerings raising more than $1.6 billion in capital for various companies. She served as the CFO of semiconductor company Parthus Technologies plc (now CEVA Inc., a NASDAQ-listed company), from 1999 to 2003. Most recently she was a director and co-founder of GloNav, a GPS semiconductor portfolio company which was sold to NXP in January 2008 for $110 million.
Before Parthus and CEVA, Elaine worked for IONA Technologies plc, where she oversaw its initial public offering on NASDAQ in 1997 and held senior financial positions including corporate controller and vice president of finance. Prior to that she was based in California from 1994 to 1996 with CBT Systems plc, where she co-led its initial public offering and secondary offering on NASDAQ. Elaine was an international senior audit manager with Ernst & Young specializing in advising SEC registered clients in the technology sector.
Elaine is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland and a member of the Institute of Directors.
Fergus Gloster has more than 25 years’ experience in Information Technology. He is currently the Managing Director Europe for Marketo a provider of cloud-based marketing solutions. Gloster is a veteran implementer and proponent of, cloud-based services and business models.
Prior to his role at Marketo, Gloster served in a variety of executive roles with NewVoiceMedia, Thomond Technology and MX Sweep. He was Senior Vice President, EMEA Sales for Salesforce.com from 2000 to 2009, and also has held management roles at Oracle and Andersen Consulting.
Gloster holds a B. Sc. In Applied Mathematics from the University of Limerick, Ireland.
Ken Keating has more than 20 years’ experience in the service and technology industries. He is currently the Chairman and CEO of Cross Group, an organization made up of eight service and rental companies in Ireland and the United Kingdom. Cross Group companies are innovators in a number of areas including: renewable energy, refrigeration, air conditioning, fruit ripening and the temporary hire of refrigeration, air conditioning, chiller, boiler and heating equipment. The Cross Group’s combined turnover is more than $100 million.
Keating is also an active technology investor and was, along with Bill Beamish and Bill McCabe, a founder of Fleetmatics. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland and has qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PWC.
Keating is a graduate of University College, Cork.
David is Managing Director and Head of the US for WestSummit Capital, a leading global technology growth capital firm.
David has more than 15 years of private equity, technology, and investment banking experience in enterprise software, communications and technology-enabled services. Prior to WestSummit, David was the Managing Director and Head of US operations for WI Harper, a leading China focused technology venture capital firm. At WI Harper, David was involved in the firm’s investment in Beijing-based Innovation Works, and he sourced, led and served on the Board of Directors of Silicon Valley-based Quixey where he remains an Advisor. He also played a key role in securing nearly $300M in capital commitments for funds managed by WI Harper and Innovation Works.
Prior to joining WI Harper, David was Vice President at The Carlyle Group, a global private equity firm, where he led and managed investments in telecommunications and technology-enabled business services sectors for its U.S. venture and growth capital fund. While at Carlyle, Mr. Lam served on the Board of Directors and as the Audit Committee Chair of Actelis Networks, and as a Board Observer of Air2Web (acquired by Velti), eScreen (acquired by Alere), Ingenio (acquired by AT&T) and Panasas. Previously, David served as Director of Business Development at Panasas, a leading provider of scale-out parallel data storage systems and a portfolio company of The Carlyle Group.
David also spent several years in marketing and business development roles at CIENA Corporation (NASDAQ: CIEN), ONI Systems (NASDAQ: ONIS), Cisco Systems (NASDAQ: CSCO) and Proxim (NASDAQ: PROX), and worked in the M&A group at Robertson Stephens & Company. Prior to Robertson, Mr. Lam served as an Executive Fellow in the California Governor’s Office.
He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Nexenta, Movidius, FieldAware and Accuris, and as a Board Observer on 3D Robotics and Mirantis. David previously represented WestSummit on the boards of Twitch Interactive (acquired by Amazon in 2014), Maginatics (acquired by EMC in 2014) and Tilera (acquired by EZchip in 2014).
David is a current Board Member and past Chairman of the Asia America Multi-Technology Association (“AAMA”), the largest pan-Asian technology professional organization in Silicon Valley. He is also a Board Member of the Association of Asian-American Investment Managers (”AAAIM”), a U.S. non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of Asian Americans & Pacific Islanders (AAPIs) in the field of investment management.
David graduated with a BS and MA from Stanford University and an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management where he was a Merit Scholar and recipient of the Patrick McGovern Award.
Adam Marcus joined OpenView in 2009 and is a board member at several portfolio companies.
Prior to joining OpenView, Marcus worked at Battery Ventures where he focused on investments in SaaS, e-commerce and digital media. At Battery, Adam was on the Board of J. Hilburn, a Board Observer at ExactTarget and was actively involved with Cortera.
Marcus has also served as the Director of Corporate Development for The Boston Celtics where he was responsible for all strategic initiatives. He also worked at Lycos (sold to Telefonica), where he was responsible for M&A, private equity and joint venture investment in North America, Europe and Asia.
Marcus holds a B.A. in Psychology and Spanish from Franklin and Marshall College and an M.B.A. from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.
Bill McCabe was Chief Executive Officer and later Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of CBT Systems (later renamed Smartforce) the most successful indigenous technology company in Irish corporate history and the largest e-learning company in the world. In 1995 CBT became the first Irish technology company to complete an IPO on New York’s NASDAQ market and the first e-learning company to undertake and successfully complete the IPO process. During the next five years Mr. McCabe lead CBT/Smartforce to the undisputed position of the world’s No. 1 e-learning company. In the process the business delivered revenues of some $250m per annum with annual profits reaching some $60m and enjoyed during this period a market capitalization of approximately $3 billion. During this period the business employed over 1,800 people.
After creating and leading CBT/Smartforce for some fifteen years McCabe stepped down from all executive and board positions in late 2000 to found and develop Oyster Capital Partners.
Steve comes with more than 20 years leadership experience working for leading business transformation software providers in the customer management space. Prior to his new role at FieldAware, Steve spent 8 years specializing in Mobile Workforce Management and Field Service at Click Software helping customers transform their field operations by mobilizing their workforces. During his tenure here, he took various leadership positions including heading up the efforts of the business in emerging markets such as Russia as well as helping the company in its rapid revenue growth as VP of Sales.
Steve has also held technical roles in his career and unrivalled background in disruptive technologies gives him the perfect mix of commercial acumen and solution knowledge to continue FieldAware’s mission to be a market-centric business, focused on innovation.
Johnny Jones has more than 20 years’ experience in global business application and technology sales. At FieldAware, he leads the company’s global business development and sales efforts. Prior to joining FieldAware in 2011, Jones was the Vice President of International Sales at NetSuite, a provider of cloud-based accounting and ERP application software. His tenure there resulted in triple digit growth rates and expansion of NetSuite operations into a number of new international markets. Jones has also built sales teams at Fonality, a leading provider of cloud-based VoIP services and McAfee Corporation. Jones holds a B.A. from Texas Tech University.
Dr Raymond Cunningham is the Head of Engineering at FieldAware. He is the creative force behind the architecture of the product and is responsible for all Planning & Operational activities. Cunningham, along with Andronikos Nedos, is a co-designer of the architecture that is the basis for the FieldAware software and they developed the technologies that underpin the system.
Prior to developing the FieldAware software, Cunningham performed post-doctorate research in large scale peer-to-peer and sensor networks and, with two other Trinity College Dublin (TCD) researchers, received a patent in live streaming over peer-to-peer networks. Dr. Raymond Cunningham holds a Doctorate in Computer Science from Trinity College Dublin (TCD) with a concentration in mobile, distributed systems.
Dr Andronikos Nedos is one of the originators of the FieldAware software. Together with Raymond Cunningham he developed and architected the software that powers FieldAware, driving the creation of the development team.
Nedos holds a Doctorate in Computer Science from Trinity College Dublin (TCD) and has been integrally involved with research in location-based services, distributed systems, and software engineering.
Vic brings 15 years of experience in start-up, high growth, and publicly traded companies to the FieldAware team. As VP of Finance, Vic manages all aspects of FieldAware’s financial and G&A operations. Prior to joining FieldAware, VIC was part of Salesforce’s acquisition team, ExactTarget being the last deal he worked on. Vic served in senior finance roles at Buddy Media, 247 Real Media, and DoubleClick. As SVP of Finance at Buddy Media, he helped lead the company through its explosive growth and its sale to Salesforce.com for $745 million. While serving as controller of DoubleClick, Vic helped guide the company through its change of ownership structure and eventual sale to Google for $3.1 billion.
Vic started his career with Ernst & Young as an auditor in its Assurance and Advisory practice. Vic graduated with honors from Lehigh University with a BS in Business & Economics and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Tabitha is a career marketer with extensive experience in working within the high tech software industry. Prior to joining FieldAware, Tabitha was running the global marketing communications for Trimble focusing on the Field Service Management sector. Previously Tabitha has also worked for leading brands in the b2b and b2c sector including Eon (Utilities) and Aviva (Insurance) growing her broad experience across the marketing mix from corporate, strategic PR and Analyst relations through to tactical digital and social execution. She comes with a wealth of know-how in growing brands, driving lead generation and revenue by employing creative and innovative ways of engaging the market.
